Cody April 1, 1995 - March 2, 2008

Dear friends and family

It is with great sadness that we write this post as Cody passed away yesterday, one month shy of her 13th birthday.
Rob got Cody when she was 3 weeks old as her mother wouldn’t nurse her, so Rob did. She was 100% solid with people and loved kids. Cody spent a lot of time skiing with her Dad while he ski patrolled. Without Cody, we wouldn’t have Tyler as she made it possible for him to stay home alone – she was a wonderful big sister to him and taught him how to relax! Cody loved to swim and chase sticks, she also loved to wrestle with her brothers.
She will be missed.

Kelowna Agility Trial

Kelowna was a lot of fun. We did, however, camp next to a boarding kennel, so needless to say, there was a lot of barking very early in the am! Toby loved the tent and loved playing with his buddy Ryan; he liked to run into the tent at full speed to get out of Ryan's way only to charge right back out again! The truck ride up was fun with Jess and Tycho - I hope Tyler's whinning in the car didn't drive them too crazy! Ty got a Q - which is always a big deal with my boy!

Tyler is actually going to target in this photo! Good boy! What a neat photo. (Rob takes all of these photos, I can't take any credit)

This photo is titled: "Toby, for god sakes lay down and stop wagging your tail!" :)

Ty is such a fast weaver - he got another starters standard Q, 1 to go! We missed our gamble by a nose, he flew past the last jump of the gamble after getting 30+ points in his opening. I was disappointed, but we will get it next time.

Jump Toby Jump! Toby was a very good boy, no Q's but he did get a 1st place in his Starters Standard run. (Toby likes to go and visit the judge, visit with his dad and brother etc. while in the ring. We are working on it.)

Ty-ty is such a handsome boy. It is hard to believe that he has been with us for 4 years this month! We love you bo-to-the-bo, you are a wonderful boy and you make us very proud.
He lookes so calm in this photo!

Rally Obedience

Tyler and I when he got his RN last summer, what a good boy!

Is a great sport. Tyler loves it and has his RN (Rally Novice title) and I teach one night a week.

We both get a lot out of it; agility is great and is a blast, but Rally is calmer and it is very rewarding to see your dog learn new moves every week.

Toby, on the other hand, does not seem as motivated to learn Rally as his big brother is - and he is so little that it is hard to treat him while heeling! He does love agility though, funny little dog that he is.

Home from Tofino

We just came home from Tofino and had a great time - it was too bad that the dogs couldn't come with us this trip; they sure do love Tofino.

This sign is all over Tofino and is not very reasuring!

We saw a lot of eagles

And a momma bear and her two cubs - they were a little close for comfort, but she didn't bother us, and we didn't bother her!

All in all, it was a great holiday. It was a lot of fun catching up with old friends, and going on vacation with my parents is great. We are planning on going back in the spring to watch some storms, with the dogs this time. They did miss us, it was nice coming home to see them!

The Strike is Over!

Back to work on Tuesday; I am on holidays so back to work on Friday for me!
Toby has hurt his eye - he cut his cornea. Thank god for our Aunt J. who was at work when it happened - she made room for Toby and he got an appointment. (Our regular vet was booked up, which makes me a bit angry as he really needed to see a vet this afternoon)
We are off to Tofino for four days with my family and old friends. We love it there as that is where we got married.

Strike, Day 10

My little dog is more popular than me. I left him in the car while I set up my strike chair, only to hear: "where is Toby?" from my fellow picketers! Too funny. He sure likes the attention he gets down and ye' ol' picket line.
Hopefully when we get home from Tofino next week the strike will all be over. At least it isn't raining out and is nice and sunny. I have quite a nice picket line tan going!

Toby's first Fun Match!

Toby sneezing in the park

I took Toby and Tyler to an agility fun match yesterday and we all had a blast. Toby ran like the wind and Tyler was a good boy; he hardly barked at all and had a few Q's! Go dogs Go!

Toby has only been doing agility once a week for a few months now, but he can sure run.
